Voice Your Choice 2010
The Borough Council worked together with residents from across
the borough and local Parish Councils to deliver a new and exciting
way of giving local people real choices about how money is spent in
their community.
Organisations and groups were invited to submit bids for
projects which meet local priorities. Residents then decided
who was awarded the money at a series of public
events. Below is a summary of each scheme and the
results.
Northern Area Event
Saturday 17th July 2010 saw over 600 people
attend the event at Sneaton Castle. Projects were divided
into 'small pot' and 'big pot'. The Small pot was for
projects requesting £2,000 and under, the Big pot was for projects
requesting between £2,001 and £20,000.

Scarborough Urban Area Event
For the Scarborough Urban events projects were divided into
'Little Pot' and 'Big Pot'. Little Pot was for projects
requesting less than £1500. Big Pot was for projects
requesting more than £1500. They were considered at different
events.
On Thursday 8th July 2010 the Little Pot
proejcts were considered. The Big Pot projects were considered on
Saturday 10th July 2010 with the Mayor of
Scarborough Borough announcing the winners.

Scarborough Rural Area Event
Applications to the Rural Area Voice Your Choice were considered
at two events, Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th February. Over
700 residents came to vote.

Southern Area Event
Applications to the Southern Area Voice Your Choice were
considered at nine different events hosted throughout the Southern
Area. At each event residents were shown a film which
featured all of the projects requesting money.
