Scarborough Borough Emissions Working Group

We are keen to consider practical ways that emissions can be reduced locally.

The aim of the emissions working group is for partners with relevant expertise and knowledge, from the public, private and voluntary sectors to work together to share good practice, promote more sustainable ways of working and to assist with the practical delivery of initiatives.

Currently the Community Strategy for the Borough has sustainability as one of its underlying principles, and recognises the need at a local level for partners to play their part in achieving global targets to reduce Co2 emissions.

Partners participating in the group include the Borough Council, Yorkshire Coast Homes, Yorkshire Energy Partnership, Sustainable Scarborough and Next Generation Now.

The group has developed an eco blog to encourage sustainable business practice which can be accessed

at www.scarboroughbusiness.org/ecoblog.

We are currently working on producing bus maps showing key routes within the Borough.

We welcome feedback and suggestions from public, private and voluntary individuals/groups to help us achieve our goals.

Older People Strategy Group
